Appearence:
She has a short, sturdy build. Her most noticeable features are the black patch above one of her eyes and her short tail, which twists inward in a sort of spiral. Her short, thick fur is a creamy color with random dark brown, black, and orange patches. Her small, triangular head is topped with a pair of black ears covered with orange flecks. Her almond-shaped eyes are a light, almost silver blue, giving her a cold and somewhat intimidating look at times.
Though her balance is a little off due to her short tail, her short build and small legs make up for that, putting her closer to the ground so tripping and falling is never a big problem. Her muscular shoulders and neck give her amazing biting power, and her thick fur makes for the perfect shield when she comes up close for one of her brutal bites.
Personality:
Overall personality-- Stubborn, fierce, affectionate, overprotective, loyal, gentle, and a little too honest about her opinion at times.
She tries to be the best warrior she can be, and takes her duties very seriously, even when she's just out for a hunt. She sticks to her word and her opinions, and states both of them clearly, no matter what effect they might have on the cats around her.
She is overprotective of her friends and family, tends to overreact whenever anything happens to someone she's close to, getting either more angry or more worried then she should.
In spite of that, however, she is a rather amiable cat, affectionate to all her clanmates, and never one to start a fight without good reason.

History
She has lived a normal life without any real problems. She has no living siblings, her two siblings being born dead. It was suspected that they had died because her mother, Snakeheart, had gotten a nasty scare from an owl attacking her while she was expecting them. Snakeheart got an even worse scare when two out of three of her kittens were born dead, and the living kitten had a black patch over one eye which, upon first glance, looked rather like she had an empty socket where one of her eyes should be. Her mother named her Blackkit, after the black patch that had scared her so.
She spent her days as a 'kit playing with her father more than her mother. Her father, Sandclaw, loved kittens, especially his own, and was always visiting the nursery to play with his precious daughter.
When she became an apprentice, she trained under her mentor, Runningstream, a pretty she-cat which also had a short tail. Her mentor told her how to keep her balance without having to use her tail, and said a cat with a short tail, with the proper training, could balance herself just as well as one with a long tail. But Shadowpatch, Blackpaw at the time, was never really sure whether or not to believe her mentor, due to the teasing of her fellow apprentice's. She was teased mostly because most cats found her black patch to be ugly, combined with her strange tail, and was often called Uglypaw by the other apprentice's when warriors weren't around to hear.
She became a warrior after helping her mentor chase a badger off the territory, and was surprised to find her warrior name not based off her apprentice name, all the cats in the clan calling out that the name "Shadowpatch" suited her more than "Blackpatch". The leader agreed that it did suit her, and she was given the name.
